Dear Panel,
I am a 25-year-old male. I have been with
my girlfriend for 7 months. We have known each other
for 6 years now and we both know that we will marry.
Marriage is discussed, having children is discussed
etc. I have very little trouble telling her what is
on my mind, until recently.
My girlfriend is a beautiful 22-year-old.
She is in school. We do not go to the bars often and
when we do we usually do not drink too much. My girlfriend
knows she does not need much alcohol to get drunk.
I'm A Jealous Guy
I have been in 2 serious relationships
and my last one caused me to be a jealous man. I love
women and treat every one of my girlfriends like queens.
I guess I am a jealous man. I have diagnosed myself
as such. Jealousy happens to the best of us. I get jealous
when I see my girlfriend flirting, or dancing too close
with guys at the bar.
Alcohol Makes Me Angry
I have problems accepting people's behaviour
when they are drunk. Girls become frisky and guys follow
up. I trust my girlfriend except I do not trust alcohol
and what it does to people.
My girlfriend and I were having a good
night. Drinking a little bit at her friend's house with
her classmates. Then she and I went to a birthday party
for an hour. We were supposed to meet up with her classmates
later at a bar.
We met up with her friends at the bar.
This guy in her class knows that we are going out but
I think he likes my girlfriend. Everybody on the dance
floor is having a good time dancing. I have had barely
2 drinks. I am supposed to drive home. My girlfriend
is dancing with me and her friends. Everything is going
well.
She Was Dancing Sexually
I go to the washroom and when I come back
my girlfriend is dancing close with this guy. I nonchalantly
take her back to me and we dance. When I saw them dancing
it was very sexual and feel that she should only dance
this way with me. We had talked about this before one
time when I came and got her from the bar. I don't want
to pester her about this and make her think that I a
jealous freak.
I understand the right thing to do is
to talk with her regardless but I just want a second
opinion. Alcohol makes me angry.
